INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

The department of ICT is one of the most important department in the college of education. It offers support in running B.Ed, M.Ed and Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed. Other than teaching , department also provide technical support to the other departments of the college and to the office of the principal in running day to day affairs which are related with the technology. The department also offers technical support to college library. The department comprises of one faculty member and one local fund employee as an assistant.
Objectives
1. To help the learners become competent and confident users of ICT who can make efficient, effective, and creative use of basic application software in their routine activities.
2. To encourage the learners to become critical and reflective users of ICT who can evaluate the capabilities and limitations of the technology
3. To prepare the learners for the society of tomorrow by making them adaptable users of ICT who have the necessary openness and flexibility of mind.
4. To be able to adjust to future changes in the technology.
5. To understand the use of computers in teaching and learning.

Infrastructural Facilities
The department has well equipped laboratory with state of the art computer hardware and software. The hardware includes more than 20 workstations interconnected with each other through server. The department has all the latest teaching aids and equipment including smart flat interactive panels, printers, scanners, multi-function printers, routers, switch, and modems. The networking in the ICT Lab is implemented through STAR topology and the internet connectivity is provided by BSNL. The lab is facilitated with high speed internet connectivity through BSNL fibre connection that offers high internet speed ranging between 50-60Mbps. The power back facility is provided by 10KVA online UPS. The lab is air conditioned that makes that environment comfortable for students during their class time and lab time.
