The department of Physical Education and Sports is one of the most active department
in the college of education. It offers support in running B.Ed, M.Ed and Integrated B.Ed-
M.Ed. Other than teaching , department also provide recreational and sports
equipments to the students and staff of the college. The department also organize
Intra/ Inter College sports/Yoga tournaments for students of this college as well as
students of cluster university of Jammu. The department comprises of one faculty
member and one local fund employee as an assistant.
Objectives
1. To help the learners understand teachers’ role and responsibilities to promote Physical Education and Sports.
2. Create awareness on different aspect of health and fitness among student teachers.
3. To understand the purpose of Yoga, Common Yoga Asanas and Pranayama .
4. To develop understanding of Nutrition and First Aid.
5. To understand the various aspect in pedagogy of Health & Physical Education.
6. To develop Physical culture among students.
7. To provide opportunity/platform to excel in Inter college/Inter University Sports Tournaments

Infrastructural Facilities
The department has well equipped with Indore and Outdoor sports equipments like
Chess, Caroom, Table Tennis, Yoga Mats, Rope skipping, Badminton, volleyball,
Cricket, Tug of War, Spin bike, twister etc. Department has establish Open Gym
equipments for students and staff.
