Internal Complaints Committee

In compliance with the instructions of National Commission for Women and the guidelines issued in implementation of the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgment dated 13th August 1997, for the protection of students and employees against sexual harassment, the following committee is constituted by Government College of Education Jammu.

The committee is responsible for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment and ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all members of the institution.

Functions of ICC

  • ICC of GCOE Jammu works for the protection of students and employees against sexual harassment in the college campus.
  • Any student or employee facing harassment may contact the following faculty members:

  • The complaint shall be kept strictly confidential.
  • ICC assures unbiased and fair hearing.
  • Students may submit evidences such as messages, emails, audio or video recordings.

  • The complaint will normally be resolved within 30 days of filing.

Process of Filing a Complaint

Timeline for Action

Submission of Complaint to the ICC Within 3 months of last incident
Notice to the Respondent by the ICC Within 7 days of receiving the complaint
Reply of the Respondent in writing Within 10 days of receiving notice from ICC
Completion of Inquiry by ICC Within 90 days of receiving complaint
Submission of Report by ICC to the employer Within 10 days of completion of inquiry
Implementation of Recommendations Within 60 days of receipt of report
